The Artificial Intelligence for Future Manufacturing programme brought together participants from CIAST Malaysia (Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training) for an intensive three-week training focused on applied AI, smart manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Organised by the International Smart Factory Academy at Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) in collaboration with S3C, the programme combined practical workshops, applied learning sessions, and industrial visits within the Swiss innovation ecosystem. Participants — mainly TVET educators and technical professionals — gained hands-on experience through workshops conducted in the SSF SIPBB ecosystem, exploring real-world applications of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital manufacturing technologies.

A key component of the programme was a series of industrial and institutional visits, offering direct insight into Switzerland’s advanced manufacturing and research landscape. Participants visited leading institutions and companies including EPFL, ETH Zurich, SSF partners, LNS Europe, Asyril, Sylvac, RealWear, and Stoppani, where they explored practical implementations of AI, robotics, precision engineering, metrology, augmented reality solutions, and smart production systems.

The programme fostered international collaboration and knowledge exchange while supporting the development of future-ready manufacturing competencies for technical education and industrial training environments.
